For the past 20 years, Pastor John Arzuaga has dedicated himself to the work of social services, cultural empowerment and psychiatric crisis intervention. He holds degrees and coursework in the areas of General, Clinical and Forensic psychology, in addition to Business Management and Bilingual Education. Pastor John has worked to serve the members of marginalized communities within the forensic arena, low-income communities and psychiatric social service agencies, in addition to serving as a adjunct professor of psychology to students learning English as a Second Language (ESL) within the City University of NY (CUNY) system, and as a Dean of Students within the NYC Department of Education. Pastor John currently lives with his wife and children in New Windsor, NY, where he is utilizing his love for social justice, mental wellness and performance arts at New Harvest Christian Church. He is an accomplished educator, clinician, researcher, grant writer, play write and public speaker. While preaching and teaching Christian principles and values is his primary passion, he also enjoys playing percussion, acting in Christian plays and exploring the various ways that society, culture, mental health and spirituality interconnect within individuals and society. His goals are to grow the kingdom of God via the equipping of others in the transformation of theological and sociological principles into an actionable Christian lifestyle.
Pastor Arkenya Arzuaga has dedicated her life to the empowerment of others. She holds coursework and certifications in Business Management, Corporate Administration and Client Relations. Pastor ‘Kenya’ has utilized her passion for nurturing the strengths of others within corporations, forensic settings, low-income communities and social service initiatives. Prior to her ordainment into pastoral ministry, she established herself as a Youth Leader, Playwright, Choreographer, Performing Arts Director and Marketing Strategist.
Pastor Kenya has developed several emotionally riveting Performance Art works, which seek to dissect the connections between modern lifestyles and Biblical Christianity. She is also a dedicated mother, mentor, public speaker, educator, and administrator. Her work within the lives of others through Art and Worship has served as a tool of counsel, empowerment, and catalyst toward finding intimacy with Jesus Christ. Pastor Kenya is a powerful voice and inspiration for children, who have encountered their own voice, boldness, and identity in-Christ through her call for fellowship, teamwork, honor and love for all of God’s children. She is a dedicated servant of God, wife, and leader, with a spirit for excellence, who also adores to travel, attend Performing Arts events and organized team sports. She makes herself available to all, is a natural collaborator and the joyful energy of “Our Home” at New Harvest Christian Church!

WE BELIEVE… The Scriptures are inspired by God and declare His design and plan for mankind.
WE BELIEVE…There is only One True God – revealed in three persons… Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity).
WE BELIEVE…In the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. As God’s son Jesus was both human and divine.
WE BELIEVE…Jesus was born of a virgin and conceived by the Holy Spirit of God.
WE BELIEVE…that Jesus walked the earth, performed miracles and established the New Covenant on earth.
WE BELIEVE… that Jesus was crucified for the atonement of the sin of mankind; that He was crucified, buried and resurrected after three days.
WE BELIEVE…that Jesus Christ again walked the earth after His resurrection, before His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in heaven, where He currently resides, until His return to the earth for His Church.
WE BELIEVE…though originally good, Man Willingly Fell to Sin – ushering in evil and death, both physical and spiritual, into the world. WE BELIEVE… Every person can have restored fellowship with God through Salvation (trusting Christ through faith and repentance to be our personal Savior)
WE BELIEVE…in Water Baptism by Immersion after repenting of one sin and receiving Christ’s gift of salvation and Holy Communion (the Lord’s Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s establishment of the New Covenant and sacrificial death, for our salvation.
WE BELIEVE…The Baptism in the Holy Spirit follows Salvation WE BELIEVE… the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as evidenced by the activation of spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12).
WE BELIEVE…in repentance as a requirement for forgiveness of sins and justification by faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Sanctification initially occurs at Salvation and is not only a declaration that a believer is holy, but also in a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil as believers continually draw closer to God and are progressively molded into the image of Christ.
WE BELIEVE…the Church is divinely commissioned to seek and save all who are lost in sin. We believe ‘the Church’ is the Body of Christ and consists of the people who, throughout time, have accepted God’s offer of redemption through the sacrificial death of His son Jesus Christ.
WE BELIEVE…A Divinely Called and Scripturally Ordained Leadership Ministry Serves the Church. That the order and structure of the church body be designed and set after the scriptural model of the Holy Bible.
WE BELIEVE…Divine Healing of the Sick, Deliverance and Prophetic Gifts are a Privilege for Christians Today and is provided via the indwelled Spirit of God within the believer.
WE BELIEVE…in the Blessed Hope – When Jesus Raptures His Church Prior to His Return to the Earth (the second coming). At this future moment in time all believers who have died will rise from their graves and meet the Lord in the air, and Christians who are alive will be caught up with them to be with the Lord forever.
WE BELIEVE…in the Millennial Reign of Christ when Jesus returns with His saints at the second coming and begins His benevolent rule over the earth for 1000 years. This millennial reign will bring the salvation of national Israel and the establishment of universal peace.
WE BELIEVE…A Final Judgement will take place for those who have rejected Christ. They will be judged for their sin and consigned to eternal punishment in a punishing lake of fire.
WE BELIEVE…and look forward to the perfect New Heavens and New Earth that Christ is preparing of all people, of all time, who have accepted Him. We will live and dwell with Him there forever following His millenial reign on earth “And so shall we be forever with the Lord” (1 Thess 4:17)

Morning Star is committed to the belief that the local church is supposed to be the true school of ministry. In recent polss we have taken, less than 5% of the people in an average congregation know what their gifts or callings are, and only about 2% of those are actually equipped and functioning in their calling. What body could live if only 2% of its members were functioning?
